We are happy to hear of many supporters who are planning to come to Southeastern Georgia! This will make for a wonderful overflow crowd at the court. The officers only allow approximately 50 people in the courtroom at a time. Priority will be given in this order: to family members, media and supporters. People will take turns going in.
The legal team and defendants encourage a strong presence outside the courthouse, as well, during the days of the trial, which may go on for a week or more. Jury selection will begin Monday morning. People will gather for lunch breaks outside. After court, we’ll gather. Time & place TBA.
Please be advised that the court has been kept extremely cold in the past. Bring sweaters or jackets just in case.
- Housing
We have reserved an entire campground on beautiful Blythe Island, about 20-30 minutes from the courthouse. Camp Glynn has cabin space for up to 140-150 people and tent camping space as well. This space also has a large kitchen and gathering hall and a large chapel. For a more detailed description of Camp Glynn, as well as of other inexpensive options for housing, go to http://bit.ly/GAHOME.
If you wish to stay at Camp Glynn, please send an email with CAMP GLYNN as the subject to Sarah Cool, coolsarahs@gmail.com. Since you have already filled out the RSVP form, you need not enter it there.
- Core Agreements
We ask all who participate in the October Hope and Solidarity events to support the Kings Bay Plowshares 7 to fill out and sign the Core Agreements document. You can download it here: http://bit.ly/KBP7Agree
- Court Guidelines
The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia has very strict Dress and Attire rules that you should be aware of before you pack.
Sandals or flip flops are not permitted, so please bring a pair of closed-toe shoes.
Jeans and sleeveless tops are also not permitted; dress for men and women is expected to approximate 1950’s business casual.
Additionally, at times the courtroom can get very chilly, so prepare to dress in layers.
