The ‘Plowshares 7’: Catholics against nuclear weapons by Alexis Buisson, La Croix International, Feb. 5, 2020

On 4 April 2018, the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., seven US Catholic activists broke into the military base at Kings Bay in the southern state of Georgia.

They are part of the Plowshares, a Christian civil disobedience movement that wants to abolish nuclear weapons.

The base at Kings Bay was not chosen at random. It is home to several ballistic missile submarines and unmanned aerial vehicles.
